Digital Photography  Semester I

 Students completing the Digital Photography Career Pathway will receive the Digital Photography State Certificate and have access to dual credit classes and community internships. Students will understand and apply the Elements of art and Principles of Design to create compositions for a Digital Portfolio. Students will research the history of photography, complete study guides. The students will apply techniques in Photoshop, technical knowledge of the exposure triangle  and the printing process to create and evaluate project based experiential assignments according to to the Dine, National,  New Mexico, Common Core and Career Technical Education Standards. Students will explore careers, including photojournalism, portraiture, sports, forensic photography and commercial applications such as advertising and web design using Nepris, a secure, live classroom to interview . Students will enter competitions, organize and install exhibitions. This course can be taken with journalism, ASA Certification (Adobe Software Associate) or Precision Exams Video Certificate. Equipment Provided: Rebel T6 Digital Camera Audio Equipment, Lighting Equipment and Adobe Software. The link for lesson plans is under links and resources on the Home Page.

Digital Media 1A Syllabus

Students completing Digital Media 1A  will receive  a State Digital Media Certificate. Digital Media is the process of analyzing, designing, and developing interactive media. Digital Media I is the first-year digital media course for the Arts and Communications Career Pathway. Students will create and learn digital media applications while using elements of text, graphics, animation, sound, video, and digital imaging for various formats. These abilities will prepare students for entry-level multimedia positions and provide fundamental 21st Century Learning skills beneficial for other occupational/educational endeavors.  Students will learn Precision Exams, Dine, National,  New Mexico, Common Core, Career Technical Education Standards.  Students will begin to develop their Sway Portfolio. Students will explore careers, including  producer, camera crew, Live broadcasting, makeup and wardrobe assistants, screenwriting, editing and commercial applications such as advertising and YouTube using Nepris, a secure, live classroom to interview professionals. Students will enter competitions and compete at skillsusa.org. This course may be followed by an ASA Certificate (Adobe Software Associate)
